The DACKKs Group for Supportive Housing Development, a Bergen County, New Jersey, charity, is dedicated to helping the homeless make the transition to independent living. Our mission is simple. With the help of dedicated volunteers and the financial support from government and foundation grants, and private donors, we purchase properties -condominium units, single- and multi-family homes -throughout the Bergen County, New Jersey, area to rent to the homeless and special needs populations for thirty percent of their income...whatever their income.
The Latest News On January 25th,
Bergen County social service agencies will participate in a nationwide
survey to measure the extent of homelessness throughout the
country. Participating jurisdictions will count the number of
people - adults and children - who report themselves to be homeless on
that day. Last year, the PIT Survey conducted in Bergen County
identified 1521 people, including 585 children, who were homeless on the
survey date.

The DACKKs Group received a generous
grant of $5229.00, from the United Water Foundation. The
Foundation's generous donation will provide the matching funds the DACKKs
Group must raise to meet the requirements of a HUD grant it received for
the 2012-2013 operating year. These important grants will provide a
year's worth of operating dollars for four DACKKs Group properties.
Our sincere thanks to the United Water Foundation for its
generosity!

Clifton Moose Lodge #657 recently donated $1,000 to the DACKKs
Group. The Lodge's generous support will allow the DACKKs Group to
remove a tree damaged during the October snow and ice storm and repave an
asphalt driveway at one of our two-family homes. Our sincere thanks
to the Clifton Moose Lodge members for their generous
support!
