Preparations are being finalized for our third annual DACKKs Group fundraiser. This year's event will be a wine and food extravaganza, pairing foods with complementary wines. This event is well attended because the food is skillfully prepared by a local caterer and the host restaurant and the wines are carefully selected to complement by a local and knowledgeable wine vendor. The event will be held at the very lovely Brick House located at 179 Godwin Avenue in Wyckoff on Monday, October 25 at seven o'clock.

This event is especially important because of the stakes. Our focus is the LINKs Project, which will provide housing and support services to eight disabled individuals or adults with families who are homeless. With funding from HUD, the County of Bergen, Vantage Health System and the DACKKs Group, we will purchase five housing units to place those eight people. We have also applied to four other funding sources to supplement the capital already committed to this project because in the real estate market that is Bergen County the money does not go very far.

Every year our annual event grows larger. Your support allows us to continue doing the work that we do. Remember, because we are an all-volunteer organization, nearly 100% of donations go directly to maintaining our existing properties and saving for new ones.
